So apparently !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! got around well, so in today’s bath, I made four more tracks. The two above are shorter and more low-key, but will still be a challenge to any driver or rider.
The first track (5.0 km) has rather dramatic elevation changes, with T5 and T6 being blind yet pretty quick uphill corners, and elevation dropping at T8 before rising again to the highest point in the circuit, T11. The second track (4.1), however, is completely flat, as it’s built on a old farm. That doesn’t mean that it’s any easier, however, with big, nearly-circular sweepers that have just one apex.
Now the following two tracks are FIA Grade 1 circuits, but fortunately, they’re not in some Middle Eastern country. Instead, they’re my replacements for the Korea International Circuit and Valencia Street Circuit.
Also, this picture got taken badly, so please for the love of God just re-draw these in clean paper for me to see.
The top part will be the new Korean track (6.600 km), and as you can see, it’s vastly different from !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . It’s still anticlockwise, but now the circuit is faster overall and will have a whole lot more non-DRS overtaking opportunities. The trademark section is the last corner, T12, which is banked by 18 degrees and goes uphill at 22 degrees.
Yes, you read that right. 18-degree banking and slopes up at 22 degrees. This corner is the most epic of the ones here, and with much of the grandstand seating stretches along the whole length of the turn and goes on until the entry to T2, fans will see all the speedy stuff happening.
Clarification: no, T12 is not not a DRS zone; I borked it while typing the corner numbers in Paint. The real DRS zone is the straight between T9 and T10 (slightly dogleg).
Another special set of corners here are T10 and T11. The lowest point of the circuit is between those two corners, and they’re pretty darn tricky to slice, especially if you DRS-pass on the right. Nail these two corners properly and you can carry lots of speed coming to the banked turn at T12; bungle it, and you’ll meet the wall.
Besides a proper setup job at T2 to T5, this track is a lot simpler and more straightforward than the Tilkean Yeongam track, but the possibility of a 6-wide rises sharply in this track.
The second circuit (6.010 km.), meant as an alternative to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , is more complex than the neighboring tile, and while I think it’s better than what Tilke can come up with, it’s more of a Hungaroring than a circuit I’d like to see. T13 and T14, however, are banked steeply, at 22 and 15 degrees, respectively, and T3 to T8 are off-camber, so I guess it would make for some wild racing.
In any case, there are my tracks. Critiques and praises are welcomed. There will be two more on Friday, then I’ll take a break and try to draw with a decent pen the tracks I posted on a piece of paper, unless someone else does it for me, of course.

Premium Oppo. Should charge to read articles like this. I give 3 stars out of 2.

The hairpin corners are a nice touch.

Roger Ebert can give a higher score than that, but thanks anyway. It’s very much appreciated.

Not too Tilkean, I hope?

My scale is better than his. On a scale of 0 to 2, my scale is rated at a four. Five thumbs way up.
But seriously, I think it’s awesome that you’re piecing together these well-conceived ideas in an unconventional space.

Well then. Fair’s fair.

Variety is the spice of life.
But really, I’ll collect these and have a friend draw the tracks on clean oslo paper with a pencil and a pen.

Creative and disgusting.

Wouldn’t they just be hair corners in this situation?

Only once every three weeks, promise. And you’ll get to see the tracks drawn on paper with a pen.

I may have glossed over that.
I should have gone over my post with a fine-toothed comb before hitting “publish”.
Now that I’ve had a chance to mullet over, I’m pretty sure I was having a blonde moment.
